Choreographed Productions
Productions have been a long tradition at La Sylvaine going back to 1955 with the production of “La Semaine du petite Elfe-Ferme-l’Oeil” at the Theatre de Fontainebleau under Jeanne Lamaison’s choreography.
In 1957, Michel Terrasse, a French painter, grand nephew of Pierre Bonnard, joined in to help produce “La Légende de Nemorosa” followed by La Légende de Lothelène (1967), Arlane petite Sirène (1972), La Légende de Moira(1977) and les Signes du Zodiaque (1982).
“Le Tunnel sous la Manche" was the first production to be staged at the Institut Français, London, in June 1992 with great success.
"Le Foyer de la Danse" was equally acclaimed in June 1997.
"Le Quadrille des Saisons" stunned the audience by the highest quality of its staging.
The current production of La Sylvaine is probably one of the most ambitious. “La Creation” choreographed by Marie Lamaison using the last drawings of Michel Terrasse, who died in 2002, endowing his close friends at La Sylvaine with this unique creation.
The show was performed successfully in Fontainebleau on 9 and 10 December 2005 and the London team is planning to present this extraordinary show here in London on 30 June and 1 July 2007 at the Bloomsbury Theatre, UCL, London.
